Charles Page High School in Sand Springs has been evacuated and students are being sent home, according to deputy police chief Mike Carter.

Carter said an anonymous call was placed to the school saying that there was a bomb inside. The school was immediately evacuated and police/SWAT team is inside investigating.

He said buses are there to take kids home, and others are being sent home.

Carter said he doesn't find the claim credible, but said they have to treat the situation seriously.

Residents reported the junior high have been evacuated, but Carter said that's not true.

Sand Springs Superintendent of Schools Lloyd Snow said bomb threat incidents are so disruptive to the school day, even if they are proved false. He said it makes it almost impossible to continue on with the learning process because most parents have already shown up to the school and pulled their children out.
