An Oklahoma man has been ordered jailed until his trial on charges that he mailed an inoperable homemade bomb to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven Logan concluded Gregory Lynn Shrader of Jay, Okla. poses a danger to the community and is at risk of fleeing from authorities and therefore should be jailed until his trial.

Shrader has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Investigators say the bomb was discovered in April 2013 at a mail collection-box unit in Flagstaff.

Authorities determined the bomb was inoperable, though black power inside the package could have exploded or ignited in a flash fire.

Investigators say a woman drove with Shrader to northern Arizona and saw him place the parcel into the mail box wearing surgical-type gloves.
