TULSA, Oklahoma -

It took a jury six hours to convict a Tulsa man for killing two people in a QuikTrip parking lot. Jermaine Jackson shot Jenks High School senior Kristjan Thorsson and his family friend John White in 2012.

The two men were shot and killed in a car parked outside a south Tulsa QuikTrip in September of 2012. Jackson opened fire on the two men because he was angry, claiming the car had almost run over him as he walked home from a friend's house.

Prosecutors said Jackson opened fire because he was angry, claiming White's car almost ran over him as he walked home from a friend's house.

The victims' families sobbed when the verdict came down, while Jackson held his head down.

Jackson's attorney, David Phillips, said, "He made an expression to the family of John White, he told them he was sorry. He told them he was sorry on the scene, so I think he has remorse as far as the families are concerned."

District Attorney Julie Doss, said, "We're obviously very, very pleased that the jury here listened to the evidence and were able to come to the correct conclusion, legally, that these were first degree murders."

The jury recommended he serve life with parole.

Formal sentencing is next month.
