A preliminary hearing is underway Wednesday for a former police captain accused of stealing drug evidence from the Bethany Police Department.

Jack Jencks is charged with 10 counts of larceny of CDS for allegedly stealing prescription drugs from Bethany Police Department property room.

The state's first witness was Bethany Police Deputy Chief J.D. Reid. He testified to the timeline of events when the evidence allegedly went missing.
