SKIATOOK, Oklahoma -

It's supposed to be a place where people are laid to rest, but one cemetery in North Tulsa County is far from peaceful. Family members are fighting over a headstone that is blocking another.

The family I spoke with said the sandstone is actually going to be engraved and become a grave marker one day. Family members who bought the new black headstone for their parents, say the rock is only here to cause trouble.

"I don't think there's any excuse for that right there," Kelly Stowe said.

Stowe and her siblings are in the middle of a family feud. The new headstone, put in for their parents, is now in the shadows.

"We just want it moved. It doesn't belong there. It needs to be moved," she said.

Stowe said the rock appeared in front of their parents' headstone within days of its arrival. Stowe's nephew said that's his rock, and hopes to one day engrave it when members of his family are buried there.

The nephew feels the new headstone was designed without complete family approval. He said a similar sandstone rock was moved from the site.

No matter what side you take, there is more than grieving happening at the gravesite.

"My mom is still alive and she's having to see all this. It needs to be fixed. She won't even come out here now. She says she doesn't even want to be buried out here anymore. It needs to be fixed," Stowe said.

Stowe believes her siblings, who put up the black headstone, have exhausted all their options and are trying to get the cemetery board involved.

The nephew didn't want to speak on camera, but said he's bought all the plots around his grandparent's gravesite.

Family members say deputies have come out here to investigate the matter. The members say the deputies told them it's a civil matter.
