Thunder 112, Clippers 101: By The Numbers

Here are some key numbers from Oklahoma City's big 112-101 Game 2 victory against Los Angeles on Wednesday:

35 – Kevin Durant was honored with the MVP trophy prior to tipoff and he came out playing like the best player in the league. Durant scored 17 of his game-high 32 points in the first quarter and finished 10-of-22 from the floor. He also hauled in a game-high 12 rebounds to go with nine assists and two steals.

0 – Russell Westbrook was a terror for the Clippers all night. L.A. has always had a difficult time matching up with No. 0, but he was a force of nature on Wednesday. Westbrook scored 31 points on 13-of-22 shooting and sliced up the defense in just about every way imaginable. Oh, and he did more than score. He also snagged 10 rebounds, doled out 10 assists and had three steals and just four turnovers.

21 – Westbrook scored 21 of his 31 points when he never passed on the possession, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

1 – Assists Durant needed to reach a triple double, which would have made him and Westbrook the first pair of teammates in NBA history to record triple doubles on the same night.

3 – The number of triple doubles for Westbrook in this year's playoffs already. No other player in the postseason has even one. He became just the fifth player in the past 25 years to reach three triple doubles in a postseason… and it's only two games into the second round.

23 – The point swing from Game 1 to Game 2 in the first quarter. L.A. held a 39-25 edge after the first in Game 1, while OKC returned the favor on Wednesday, jumping out to a 37-28 lead.

30 – The Clippers scored 30 or more in three of the four quarters in Game 1 (39, 30, 35, 18). The Thunder clamped down on D in Game 2, however, preventing the Clippers from reaching 30 at all (28, 28, 21, 24).

22 – Combined points from the unlikely duo of Kendrick Perkins and Thabo Sefolosha on 9-of-16 shooting. Perk finished with eight points and nine rebounds in a stout performance. Sefolosha managed to turn in an even better outing with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting with three steals, playing a key role in OKC's huge third-quarter rally.

18,203 – Kevin Durant asked for assistance from the home crowd in a must-win Game 2 at and the sellout crowd at Chesapeake Energy Arena came through in a big way for the Thunder. It was deafening at times, particularly during the decisive third quarter.
