TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa's Central Library has been closed for nearly a year for a big renovation project. While the work is going on, all the books, movies and research materials are in storage, but still available, so you can still get what you need, you just have to ask for it.

"Not quite as convenient, but as much as we can do," said Gary Shaffer, CEO of the Tulsa City-County Library.

He said it's all there; research materials and books.

"DVDs, CDs, as we move forward audio books," Shaffer said.

What they can't do is let people just wander around looking for something.

While the renovation's going on, if you need something from Central Library, you can go to your neighborhood branch or look online, and someone will get it for you.

Jessica Reed, the Research Center Manager, she said they found newspapers from the 1900s stored in some boxes in the basement.

"When you start going through things when you're moving, you find all kinds of goodies," she said.

If you need to look, you can call for an appointment.

The Library is holding a news conference Friday to update everyone on the two year project, and while the renovation is going on, the Central Library collection is available through neighborhood library branches or online.
