A small earthquake rumbled near the town of Yale, Okla. in Payne County, Friday afternoon.

The quake was measured as a 3.1 on the Richter scale and struck around 3 p.m.

The epicenter of the quake was located nine miles west northwest of Yale, or about 60 miles northeast of the Oklahoma City metro, at a depth of about four miles.

No damage or injuries have been reported with either earthquake.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
