The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting after one man is wounded in Lawton.

According to the OSBI, at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, the Lawton Police Department requested agents to investigate an officer-involved shooting at a Lawton residence.

Lawton police said they responded to a welfare check around 9:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of N.W. Williams. On arrival, they found 40-year-old Duffy Randolph Ahhaity, with a gun in his possession, barricaded in a bedroom.

Officers said they tried to talk to Ahhaity through the door, but when they heard a loud bang, they forced their way in and found he had broke the window and fled. Officers outside the home heard the window break and confronted Ahhaity, who still had the gun on him.

Lawton police said the officers repeatedly ordered Ahhaity to put the gun down, and then he was shot by the officers.

According to police, Ahhaity was treated for a gunshot wound to the upper chest at Comanche County Memorial Hospital, and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Officials said two officers involved in the shooting have been placed on Administrative Leave.
