Dead Ducks Found Along Bricktown Canal

A Deep Deuce resident who was walking the canal for exercise Wednesday morning saw something very disturbing. 

He says he saw at least three dead ducks. 

Mallards gravitate in different areas of the Bricktown canal this time of the year. Many people feed them. However, Wednesday morning, at least two ducks turned up dead on the Northwest end of the canal. Another duck was beaten to death and left on a stairway on the north end. 

Shawna Walker had just eaten lunch with her two children at KD's Southern Cuisine when she learned about it.

"That is terrible," she said. "I can't even imagine it. It's heartbreaking." 

A city spokesperson urges anyone who comes across something like this to file an animal cruelty complaint with the city.
