TULSA, Oklahoma -

Rain is once again in the forecast for Green Country as scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible across the region. Storms may develop near and southeast of the Tulsa area around noon to early afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has extended a flood warning for McIntosh, Muskogee, Wagoner and Cherokee counties through 9 p.m.

"Grab some rain gear once again," said News On 6 WARN Team meteorologist Alan Crone.

The highest possibility of rainfall on Tuesday is south and east of Tulsa, along the Interstate 44 line. For the Tulsa metro, the chances go up after about noon and continue through the evening, Crone said.

Rain is not as likely in areas north of Tulsa Tuesday.

The system is expected to advance to the far eastern third of the state Wednesday and Thursday, but the Tulsa metro is not completely out of the picture for additional rainfall.

Some of the heaviest rainfall over Memorial Day was in Muskogee County. The people of Fort Gibson are holding a town hall meeting Tuesday night to express their concerns to city leaders.

About 40 people were forced from their homes Monday in Warner from the heavy rainfall.

There were still some road closures in the Green Country area early Tuesday. Remember to turn around in high water.

Two vehicles were abandoned at 81st and Elwood. News On 6 has seen several cars and a Tulsa school bus apparently ignore road closure signs on North Lewis between Dawson and Independence streets.
