Two women were attacked overnight outside the Chestnut Square Apartments. One of the women died from stab wounds after being rushed to the hospital.

The suspect, identified by police as Reginald Lancaster, 48, or Oklahoma City was still on the run as of Wednesday afternoon.

Midwest City Police said Lancaster attacked the two women, later identified as 39-year-old Waynetta Roberson and 35-year-old Cheniqua Tappin, in the parking lot of the apartment around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday. According to an arrest warrant filed in Oklahoma County Court, doctors found "numerous stab wounds" on Roberson's body from what "looked possibly like an icepick."

Police told News 9 it appeared the stabbings started after a domestic disturbance.

"It's early in the investigation to determine exactly what cause this altercation but it's [evident], it's a boyfriend, girlfriend-type situation that obviously went bad," explained Sid Porter, Assistant Chief of the Midwest City Police Department.

Tappin survived the attack and told police Lancaster attacked Roberson first then came after her. She told detectives Lancaster took off in a black El Camino after the stabbing. Police tracked the car down to Lancaster's house in Oklahoma City where it was parked in the driveway.

S.W.A.T. executed an arrest warrant at Lancaster's home, but News 9 has been told officers did not find him inside. Back at the crime scene, investigators spent hours in the parking lot collecting evidence.

Lancaster has several felony convictions against him, according to court records. He has been in and out of the Department of Corrections several times.
