TULSA, Oklahoma -

Crews continue to work at the site of a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train derailment in West Tulsa.

The off-ramp from Interstate 244 at West 23rd Street has been reopened Monday, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

"Saturday night on a basic switch operation inside of our yard, 10 cars derailed," said BNSF spokesperson Joe Faust. "Six were empty; four were carrying a material that is considered hazardous."

Faust said the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and Tulsa Police Department temporarily closed and evacuated the railway yard as a precaution.

"There were no injuries, and the leak was handled promptly," he said. The tanker car was carrying xylene, a flammable liquid.

The company has hired Hulcher, a heavy equipment company, to re-rail the cars, he said.
