My 2 Cents: Plan To House Children Who Are In The Country Illegally At Fort Sill

This week, perhaps as early as tomorrow, bus after bus full of teenagers will roll into Lawton as many as 1,200 of them.

They are orphans in this country, by choice; they crossed our southern border illegally and were caught. 6,000 were caught in 2011, they predict 90,000 this year, and 140,000 kids will be caught next year.

But why did they come here, some all the way from Central America? Because they obviously believe our government will let them stay, and take care of them.

That's not the law, but it's become the policy.

I've seen estimates that it costs taxpayers $252 dollars a day to care for one of them and that's more than sending a kid to OU or OSU. And while the administration says housing thousands of these kids at military posts is a temporary fix just 3 or 4 months, what's the permanent fix? Taxpayers provide all their needs until they're 18 and then cut them loose in the U-S?

For one day's per diem we can fly these teenage illegal's back to their country.

If we allow them to stay we send the green light to thousands maybe millions more teenage illegal's to crash our borders banking on Americans to take care of them.

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
