Authorities need your help tracking down a man accused of manslaughter, and they are using social media to try to catch him!

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office is using Twitter, Facebook and Nixel alerts to try to find 35-year-old John Scott Longan.

Longan stands accused of driving drunk and crashing his car, killing the passenger who was with him, 23-year-old Kyle Schumacher. A man he had just met hours before.

"He had just met the guy that night," said Debbie Schwichtenberg, Schumacher's mother. "They met at a bar!"

Schwichtenberg is still reeling from the death of her son and is anxious for authorities to find Longan, who crashed his car into a wall at the OU College of Nursing back on November 10, 2012.

She hopes the Oklahoma County Sheriff's social media sweep will lead to his capture.

"I think it's wonderful," she said. "It's been almost two years!"

Schwichtenberg said her son had just moved to Oklahoma City from Arizona about a month before the fatal crash.

He had taken a new job and had his whole life ahead of him when tragedy struck.

She said Schumacher even called her that night, just minutes before the crash.

The next call she got was from police, saying her son was hurt.

"I didn't know what to think," said Schwichtenberg. "They told me there was a possibility he would never walk again – come to find out it was even worse than that."

Mark Myers with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office said it appears Longan has skipped town to avoid arrest.

"He could very well still be here in Oklahoma," said Myers. "We also know he may have some ties to the Texas area. The nice thing about social media is there are no boundaries!"

Now, all Kyle's family can do is wait and pray.

"I hope they catch the guy and put him jail," Schwichtenberg said.

If you have any information on Longan's whereabouts, you are urged to call the sheriff's office at 405-713-1968. Tips are kept confidential.

The search for Longan is part of the sheriff's office first ever Warrant Wednesday sweep (#Warrant Wednesday).

They said they've had success tracking people down with their Fugitive Friday campaign, and hope the same thing will happen here.
