Chance For Showers, Thunderstorms Father's Day Weekend

After a beautiful afternoon across the area, we'll continue with comfortable conditions this evening under light winds and mainly clear skies.

Late overnight we'll watch a cluster of showers and t'storms that'll develop across eastern New Mexico this afternoon. These will move east across the Texas panhandle and will try to reach western Oklahoma by late evening. So, we'll throw in some small rain chances for mainly west of Oklahoma this evening and overnight. Indications are that these will likely weaken and fall apart as they move into Oklahoma.

On Saturday, we'll see the same thing with plenty of sunshine through the day with some passing clouds. Then by evening we'll watch to the west as t'storms move across the Texas Panhandle and make their way to the east. Again, the best chances of seeing rain will be across western Oklahoma and to the west of Oklahoma City. Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 80s to middle 90s west with a strong south breeze.

On Father's Day, a weak front will press in from the northwest and will increase our rain chances. Some of these spotty t'storms could be strong to severe with large hail and damaging winds. However don't cancel those plans as much of the day will be dry with south winds and highs in the 90s.

So, yes some rain chances are in the forecast, but it's mainly looking like a breezy and warm Father's Day weekend.
