The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating an assault of a Coweta area woman outside her home late Thursday.

Deputies said the incident occurred in the 13700 block of South 273rd East Avenue at about 11:30 p.m.

The victim told deputies, she was at her back door when a man surprised her. She described the man as average build, in his early to mid-40's and wearing an earring.

After escaping her attacker, the woman called for help as family members arrived.

Deputies don't have a motive for the attack and did not say if the victim was injured or not.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office at 918-485-3124.
