OKLAHOMA CITY -

A man killed over the weekend in a hit and run was a famous inventor known, not only in Oklahoma but across the country.

Now, the search is on for the driver who took his life.

Jack McClung, 79,  was walking back home from getting groceries at a nearby Braums when he was hit by a car, and killed. McClung made millions off "Blue Stuff" selling it online and through infomercials.

It was a popular joint pain relief ointment made from emu oil that brought Jack McClung's business more than $83 million in 2002. McClung traveled the world promoting his magic product that claimed to heal areas of discomfort.

When you walk into Jack's business off Northwest 23rd, it's an immediate reflection of the life he lived. Tela Weible was Jack's personal assistant, but says she felt more like family.

"He was one of the most special people I have ever met in my life," said Weible. "The next thing I know, I get a phone call that he's not with us anymore."

Tela got that call around 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.

"I'm in shock, sad. A little upset that whoever did this is still out there, because I don't think they should be," said Weible.

Police say McClung was walking across Northwest 23rd near Geraldine with groceries in hand when a speeding driver hit him, and took off.

"As the old man is in the air, the car like backs up, and when the old man hits the ground, the car just speeds around him," said Weible.

Tela says she'll miss Jack's zest for life and his desire to help people, and his stories.

"I will never get tired of them, I'll miss them, yeah. I'll miss them," said Weible.

Police are still looking for a black, four door, Mitsubishi, Honda or Mazda. It has a red bumper, grill and a stripe down the side.

It will have a damaged windshield and no driver's side window. If you see it, call police.
