Many times, pitching dominates baseball's all-star games, and that was certainly the case Tuesday night in North Little Rock. In the 78th Annual Texas League All-Star Game, the North edged the South 3-1 in a game that featured only nine hits.

A crowd of over 9,000 watched the action at Dickey-Stephens Park.

A pair of Tulsa Drillers pitchers, Jon Gray and Kraig Sitton, contributed to the North's efforts by working a perfect inning each.

The Drillers originally had a league-high 10 players selected to play in the game, but the contingent was reduced to 7 because of injuries and promotions. Tulsa Shortstop Cristhian Adames and left fielder Brian Humphries accounted for two of the North's five hits in the game with one each.

Catcher Ryan Casteel finished 0-1, and designated hitter Harold Riggins was 0-2 with a walk.

Springfield's Cody Stanley was named the Star of the Game, going 2-2 with a 2-run homer.

Arkansas starter Michael Roth worked two perfect innings, and Springfield's Kyle Hald got the win despite allowing the South's only run. Cam Bedrosian, who was pitching in the majors for the Los Angeles Angels last week, recorded the final out to pick up the save.

Riggins finished fourth in the pre-game Home Run Derby and reportedly became the first player to ever hit a ball over the batter's eye wall at Dickey-Stephens Park.

The Drillers will return to regular season action Wednesday night at ONEOK Field. Tulsa will host San Antonio in the first game of a six-game homestand. The pitching matchup will feature Tyler Anderson (3-3, 3.07 ERA) for the Drillers against Bryce Morrow (0-1, 1.50 ERA) for the Missions with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
