Group Grows 60% by Adding Sales Execs, and Clinical and Solutions Consultants
ANDOVER, Mass., June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In a move designed to meet the demands and clinical information needs of a growing medical device integration market, Capsule Tech, Inc., the leading global provider of medical device information systems (MDIS) has significantly expanded its sales management organization. The group will be led by Curt Thornton, Capsule Vice President of North America Sales and includes the integration of the company's lead generation operations. Mr. Thornton, who also oversees Capsule's partner and reseller programs, will report directly to Capsule's CEO, Gene Cattarina.
"The alignment of opportunity, market needs and a growing client community dictated a dramatic increase not only in our North America sales organization, but also in our technical and clinical support capabilities," said Mr. Cattarina. "Our new product direction has a distinctive clinical thrust to it, having been designed with clinicians for use by clinicians. The introduction of our SmartLinx medical device information system with its expanding clinical capabilities makes it essential that we have more clinician support in the sales process."
"The reality is that we have over 1,400 North American customers. This base will continue to grow rapidly with the recent introduction of SmartLinx. So, to better serve them – both current and new customers alike – we are now organized around three sales divisions: east, central, and west," said Mr. Thornton. "Each region has five sales executives under the leadership of a divisional vice president and is supported by two solutions consultants and one clinical consultant. All told, it's a 60% increase in coverage."
"Curt is a true veteran of this industry," Mr. Cattarina added. "His 25 years of experience and leadership in various sales, marketing, and business development roles with some of healthcare's leading technology and medical device diagnostics companies make him extremely well-suited to this position."
