Nowata Man Arrested For Groping Woman At Bartlesville Library

According to Bartlesville police, a Nowata man has been arrested for an alleged sexual battery  incident that occurred at the city library on Thursday.

Police said they received several tips after investigators released surveillance photos of the man they were seeking.

John Ewing Sharp, 59, of Nowata, agreed to come to the police station for questioning and was arrested Wednesday morning.

He was booked into the Washington County jail.

BPD Capt. Jay Hastings said a woman leaving a restroom last week was approached by a man in the library lobby.

Hastings says the victim claimed the man shook her hands while talking with her, pulled her close, whispered in her ear and groped her on the buttocks.
