OU Hoops: Opponents Set For 2014 Paradise Jam

Posted: Updated:

Divisions and opponents have been announced for the 2014 Paradise Jam Tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands and the University of Oklahoma women's basketball team will play Illinois, Kentucky and South Florida as part of the Reef Division.

The 15th annual Paradise Jam will be held the week of Thanksgiving, Nov. 27-29 at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center in St. Thomas.

The Sooners will face South Florida on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27 at 7:15 p.m. CT. They then play Kentucky Friday, Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. CT and Illinois Saturday, Nov. 29 at 5 p.m. CT to close out the tournament.

OU will be facing the Bulls for the first time in school history, while it's the second match-up against the Wildcats and fifth against the Fighting Illini. Both South Florida and Kentucky participated in the postseason in 2013-14, with the Bulls falling in the semifinals of the WNIT and the Wildcats' season coming to a close in the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen.

Oklahoma is one of two teams participating in the Paradise Jam for the second time. The Sooners also were part of the 2009 Paradise Jam, finishing that tournament with a 2-1 record.
