GRAPHIC: Dog Dragged Behind Vehicle Rescued In Logan County

Logan County authorities need help catching a man they suspect, knows who dragged at least two pit bulls behind an SUV.

Construction workers found two injured pit bulls wandering around a work site at 7479 Simpson Road West on Tuesday morning.

Photos taken of one of the dogs show the fur and skin ripped completely off most of his back. Investigators want to talk to a white male believed to in his 30's. He was driving a dark blue or purple colored Jeep Cherokee.

He actually drove into the construction area and asked where the dogs were. When the workers told the man they had called police, the man sped away.

"He's a person of interest at this point," said Logan County Chief Deputy Richard Stephens. "He clearly has more information."

The construction workers drove the most severely injured pit bull, a few miles away to "Free To Live" Animal Sanctuary, which is a non-profit no kill shelter.

Matt Goodwin is the Free To Live Director. He said the injured pit bull's medical care will cost hundreds of dollars.
