Man Shot By Tulsa Security Guard Transferred From Hospital To Jail

 A man who was shot by a Tulsa security guard last week has been released from the hospital and booked into jail.

Michael Alexander Evans, 23, of Collinsville, was arrested for aggravated assault and battery and larceny, during a reported incident at the Barrington Apartments on East 65th Street and Mingo Road on July 5.

A security guard told police he saw several men near a vending machine that was being vandalized and approached them. The guard said Evans began to choke him and wouldn’t relent, even when threatened with a gun – so the guard said he shot him.

Evans was shot in the abdomen and required surgery.

He was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving the wrong way on a one-way road, among other charges, in October 2012.

Owasso police arrested Evans in January for reckless driving, eluding police, driving under suspension and violating the terms of his probation.

He also was booked into jail on complaints stemming from previous cases.
