TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa police used an iPhone app to track and arrest a suspected burglar, a report says.

Jeffery Scott Pool, 43, was arrested on Friday evening after officers said he stole his ex-girlfriend’s car, iPhone and her purse and its contents.

The victim said she was asleep from 9 -10 p.m., and when she woke, her belongings were missing. She told police she suspected Pool, who she “used to date but had broken up with several months ago because he kept stealing from her,” an arrest report says.

GPS tracked the phone to a downtown QuikTrip, where the stolen car was parked at a gas pump.

The arresting officer said Pool went inside the store, and when he came out, he was placed under arrest. In Pool’s pocket were a set of keys, and when the officer questioned him about them, Pool said he walked to QT from his father’s office and doesn’t have a car. The officer wrote in the report that he then pushed the emergency button on the key fob and the alarm began to sound on the stolen vehicle, which was sitting at the gas pump.

The contents of the woman’s purse were found inside the vehicle, he said. She previously told police she only had $3-4 in her wallet, which was missing when it was found, the officer said. The QT clerk reportedly said Pool came inside and paid for $3.95 in gas.

Pool is at the Tulsa County jail in lieu of $24,500.
