OHP: Chouteau Woman Struck, Killed On Mayes County Road

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was struck and killed on a rural Mayes County road early Thursday.

Troopers said a northbound vehicle struck Penny Lynn Dawson, 43, of Chouteau, about four miles east of Mazie at 3:30 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers did not have a description of the vehicle or the driver. Troopers did not say what Dawson was doing on the road.

An investigation into the collision continues.
