Police: Missing Elderly Man Found Dead In El Reno

An 82-year-old man who had been missing since Tuesday night was found dead near his home in El Reno, Friday morning.

According to police, family members reported Ray Barger missing at about 9:44 p.m. Thursday, and El Reno police issued a Silver Alert. Barger was diabetic, and he did not have access to a vehicle.

During the investigation, police learned that Barger was last seen by a neighbor on Tuesday in El Reno. Officers searched Barger’s home and the immediate area, as well as locations where Barger was known to frequent.

However, at about 11:45 a.m. Friday, police said Barger was found deceased in a field directly north of his home. At this time, police said there is no indication of any foul play.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause of death for Barger.
