3.0 Magnitude Earthquake Reported In Lincoln County

The United States Geological Survey reported a 3.0 magnitude earthquake Sunday afternoon in Lincoln County.

At 12:11 p.m. Sunday, a quake was recorded four miles southwest of Chandler and 20 miles east, northeast of Choctaw, at a depth of over three miles.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
