A young entrepreneur targeted by thieves is back in business thanks to the generosity of total strangers. Someone took her equipment for her budding lawn mowing business from her Coweta home.

The thieves left the girl feeling very low, but now she's sky high thanks to the kindness of others.

As she looked at equipment at Broken Arrow Lawn and Garden, Jodi Bowers was in a whole different frame of mind than she was a few days ago when thieves brought her to tears after stealing her lawn equipment.

"I can't believe that somebody would do that to somebody willing to work,” Bowers said. “They are so low, that they would come and steal from somebody who actually wants to earn their own living."

Now, it's hard to hold back tears of joy because of the remarkable response from total strangers.

"They made me mad. They made me lose hope in people,” Bowers said of the thieves. But thanks to the help of others, that feeling has gone away.

Bowers found her stolen pickup, but the thieves made away with her trailer loaded with equipment; but in two days’ time, regular folks and people who own other landscaping businesses stepped in with donations of a trailer, mowers, weed eaters and even cash.

"It makes me feel amazing. It makes me feel like people actually care, there are good people out there,” she said.

Broken Arrow Lawn and Garden is also working with TORO to get Bowers outfitted with equipment she still needs to get back up to speed with her month old business.

Bowers never expected so much generosity and kindness.

"Oklahomans, there are so many nice things I can say about them that wouldn't even cover how awesome they are," she said.

While the theft investigation is still underway, Bowers is back in business, and the tears are tears of gratitude.

"I can't even explain how awesome this is, how many people are willing to help me, a little Coweta girl," Bowers said.

She said her customers have also all been incredibly understanding about her setback.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call Coweta Police.
