The big-time summer heat is making a return to Oklahoma, and it will hang around for a while this time.
Most of the storm activity will die off after sunset, but we could see a few thunderstorms in western and northern Oklahoma tonight.
Saturday and Sunday will both be extremely hot with highs in the upper 90s and lower 100s. The heat index will range form 100 to 105 degrees both days. Make sure to take it easy this weekend and try to limit strenuous activity through the early morning and evening hours. Also, please remember your pets.
There will be a slight chance for pop-up thunderstorms through the weekend, but nothing widespread expected. Any thunderstorm that does develop could pose a threat of small hail and gusty winds.
We will see above average temperatures through next week, but there is some relief in sight. Another cool front will swing through this Sunday and will knock our temperatures back down to normal.
