Broken Arrow police and Wagoner County Sheriff's deputies opened fire on a man after a stand-off.

Investigators said a man assaulted his brother with a knife Monday afternoon then ran to his own home next door.

Deputies arrived to find the man on his porch holding a butcher's knife and called Broken Arrow police for back-up.

Wagoner County Sheriff Bob Colbert said both agencies started shooting when the man came at them with the knife.

"They tried less than lethal first. They used pepper balls. He kept charging. They tried taser. He kept charging. That's when shots were fired," Colbert said.

The suspect was shot a number of times and is in the hospital.

His name hasn't been released.

His brother only had a minor cut, and refused medical treatment.
