OKC Mother Arrested For Beating Daughter, Leaving Kids Alone At Home

An Oklahoma City woman was arrested after police said she beat up her young daughter and left all four children alone at home. 

According to police, officers responded to the report of a disturbance at 11:30 p.m. Sunday at a southeast Oklahoma City home. The juvenile victim said her mother, 28-year-old Samantha Marie Abbott, was extremely drunk when she tried to leave her children alone at home.

The child, who is under 12 years old, said her mother asked her to babysit her three younger siblings. But she refused. That’s when Abbott grabbed her arm and slammed it against a front window, causing her arm to bust out the window.

The victim said Abbott punched her and shoved her head into the wall. Abbott reportedly also bit the child’s left forearm.

Following the assault, the victim said Abbott left the children alone at home. That’s when the victim called for help.

Officers said they observed multiple injuries on the victim’s body.

Abbott was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of child neglect, child abandonment, and child abuse.
