Tillman County Man Accused Of Rape, Arson In Grandfield

A Tillman County man is facing some major charges, including rape and arson, after being arrested early Monday morning.

Sheriff's deputies in Tillman County responded to a report of a rape in the Grandfield area early Monday morning. During the course of the investigation, deputies identified 21-year-old William Jones as a suspect.

At the same time, a first-degree arson was reported and two vehicles belonging to the Grandfield Public School system were found burglarized by school employees. Investigators linked Jones to these crimes also.

Deputies located Jones just before 4 a.m., less than two and a half hours after the crimes were reported. He was booked into the Till County Jail. Details on his bond have not been released at this time.
