The Charleston Battery handed OKC Energy FC their fifth consecutive loss and third consecutive shutout loss by a score of 2-0 Sunday night in front of 4,722 fans at Pribil Stadium. The attendance total marked Energy FC's eighth sellout crowd of the season and largest single-game figure this season.

In the 79th minute of play, Charleston took a 1-0 advantage when Amadou Sanyang headed a Jose Cuevas corner kick past Energy FC keeper Samir Badr. Ten minutes later, Charleston extended its lead to 2-0 when Heviel Cordoves took a turnaround shot from about 16 yards out that bounced over a diving Badr and into the OKC net.

On the ensuing kickoff by Energy FC, Sanyang was booked with his second yellow card of the match and was sent off with a red card. Charleston outshot OKC 10-5 on the match and held a 4-1 edge in shots on goal.

With the loss in their regular season home finale, Energy FC dropped to 8-13-5. The Battery improved to 9-8-8 and remains unbeaten in their last eight matches.

Energy FC returns to action Thursday, September 4, against Sacramento in a 9:30 p.m. CST start.
