Tulsa Woman Loses Appeal In High Rise Death Case

The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has rejected the appeal of a woman convicted of killing her husband by pushing him through a 25th-floor window in a Tulsa high-rise apartment.

The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has rejected the appeal of a Tulsa woman convicted of killing her husband by pushing him through a 25th-floor window in a Tulsa high-rise apartment.

Twenty-two-year-old Amber Hilberling was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison for the 2011 death of Joshua Hilberling.

The court on Wednesday rejected her appeals -- including lack of evidence, improper evidence, prosecutorial misconduct and ineffective counsel.

Hilberling testified during her trial that she and her husband were arguing and that she feared for her safety as the dispute escalated.

She is currently serving out her sentence at the Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in Mcloud.
