Oklahoma City Firefighters fought two fires overnight, one at a home on N.E. 42nd Street, the other at an apartment complex on S. Walker near I-240.

It was certainly a busy night for Oklahoma City fire crews. That first fire was spotted around 11:30 p.m. Thursday by people who live near N.E. 42nd street just west of Martin Luther King.

Neighbors saw smoke come from a home there. When firefighters arrived it was engulfed in flames.

This was such an intense fire. Crews had to stay on the outside to put out those flames and to protect the other homes nearby. It appears no one lived in the house.

Arson investigators said this was likely set on purpose and caused about $55,000 in damage.

About three hours later fire crews raced to the Windsong Village apartments, this is on Walker avenue just north of I-240.

Someone who was out enjoying a cigarette accidentally lit the balcony of an apartment on fire. This one was quickly put out.

Fortunately no one was hurt in either fire.
