Tulsa Police say two children and a man are safe after being abducted from an apartment near 61st and Peoria early Wednesday.

Officers said that abduction led to a brief standoff at 2nd and 104th East Avenue across town.

Police say they have Michael Butler in custody. They believe Butler took two children, ages three and four, and a 24-year-old man from the Fairmont Terrace Apartments at 61st and Peoria at around 4:30 a.m. They say he drove them to a house on the east side of town.

Officers surrounded the home and negotiated with Butler who gave himself up at about 7:30.

Police could not confirm if there were any weapons in the home. They said no one was injured.
