An armed man broke into an Oklahoma City woman's house and then chased her out with a gun. It was a frightening scene, and a lot of it was caught by a security camera.

“I thought it was UPS or the mailman,” Angela Brooks said.

She said there was something different about the knock.

“So I pulled the curtain, and he literally had the screen door open and was up in my face in the window,” Brooks recalled.

He had a gun and was telling Angela not to call police and asking for a woman who doesn't live at the home.

“He asked for Esther, twice. I said, 'There's no Esther,'" said Brooks. “He goes, ‘Where's Esther?' I said, ‘You have the wrong house' and closed the curtain and did not open my door.”

As she ran to the back of her house, the suspect broke out a window in the front door, unlocked it and got inside the house.

“I was trying to protect my daughter,” said Brooks. “I wanted him to chase me, and he did.”

The suspect chased her outside, and Angela got into her SUV.

“The whole time he's banging on my window with a gun, and the gun pointed at me telling me to stop and get out,” Brooks said.

She started honking the horn to get anyone's attention and then took off in reverse. However, there was another problem.

“As I floor it to back up, my car dies,” she said.

All the commotion gets the attention of Angela's 16-year-old son, Braden, who's next door at his grandparent's house.

“My mom started honking the horn,” said Braden Brooks. “So, I ran down the stairs, and then I saw him throw his gun at her window.”

Angela Brooks made it into the street and took off, knocking the gun out of the suspect's hand. Meanwhile, Braden Brooks wasn't about to let the suspect get away.

“He assaulted my mom, and it made me mad,” he said. “So, I chased him.”

That's when Angela Brooks decided to turn around and get a better look at the man who pointed a gun in her face.

“Then I'm like, ‘You know what? I'm going to go see where he went,'” she said.

She turned around and followed the suspect, got a description of the get-away car and called police. Officers caught up with the suspect at a nearby apartment complex, arrested him and brought him back to the scene to be identified.

“I looked at him in the face and asked, 'Why?' and he denied everything, and I go, ‘We have it on camera,' and he goes, ‘Well, we do stupid blank.'”

The suspect was taken to jail. Police say he also broke into another house in the area.
