Pastor Searches For Motorcycle Stolen Out Of Church Parking Lot

An area youth pastor who heads up his church's motorcycle ministry says someone stole his bike right out of the church parking lot.

It happened Thursday in broad daylight.

The pastor said while he was inside the church working, bold thieves took his most prized possession. He says he is confident he will get his bike back, because God was watching and next door-so were surveillance cameras

It's a 2005 Harley Davidson. It is bright yellow with black-and-red flames and it was Pastor Daren Shipman's pride and joy, until thieves took off with it.

"Your bike means as much to you as your old lady - that's right up there,” Shipman said. “Your old lady is first but your bike is second."

The timing of it made the blow a bit harder. It was stolen the day before his wife was scheduled to get a kidney removed.

"It's the first bike that I've had that my wife could ride comfortably on that doesn't hurt her when we ride,” he said. “I can't afford to get another. You know I don't make a lot with the church. It's not about the money, it's about doing the work of the Lord."

Shipman is a youth pastor by day and part of a motorcycle club at night. When he vacations, he volunteers with veterans on projects like the Honor Ride- from California to DC.

"It hinders my ministry to go out and help these vets and to help other motorcyclist," Shipman said.

The handiwork of thieves was caught on camera. Next door to the Link Church is Tulsa Gold and Silver. The owners of that business shared the survellience pictures with Shipman. He is posting pictures online- and asking about 200 fellow bikers to keep an eye out.

"There are enough motorcyclist out there that know what I was going through right now that are looking for this bike,” Shipman said. “If they are found by somebody who is not Christian like me, I don't know what could happen to them.”
