Four Tulsa men's soccer players each scored a goal to lead the Golden Hurricane to a 4-1 win over cross-town rival Oral Roberts on Tuesday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. TU moved to 3-2-1 on the season, while ORU fell to 2-1-1 overall.

“It was a big game,” Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. “We talked before the game about coming out and asserting ourselves and I thought we did that early on. It was good to get an early goal. We needed to get more production from different players, not just our front three, and I was pleased with Abé and Ray's goals and the way they applied what we talked about in practice. The backs played well, didn't give up too many shots or counters, and overall I thought they played pretty disciplined.”

Austin Neil put Tulsa on the board with just 8:09 ticked off the clock off a cross from Byron Knowles-Ramirez that was headed by Akeil Barrett and then headed in from 12 yards out.

Barrett drilled in a penalty kick at the 30:22 mark to give TU a two-goal cushion at the break.

In the second frame, Abé Matamoros scored from five yards out off a combination from Knowles-Ramirez and Neil in the 56th minute, while Ray Saari tallied a goal in the 70th minute off a pass from Cameron Drackett.

Matthew Rogers scored for the Golden Eagles in the 75th minute from 30 yards out for the final score.

Tulsa had a 19-3 lead in shots, including an 11-1 advantage in shots on goal, and an 8-5 lead in corner kicks.

Aymar Sigue, Matamoros and Drackett each had three shots, while Barrett and Neil had two attempts. Jake McGuire logged all 90 minutes in goal.
