A 24-inch water line break forced the city to close East 15th Street/Cherry Street early Wednesday.
Shortly before noon, city officials say about 20 businesses and 150 residents are without water. The city expects to have water restored by mid-afternoon.
In the meantime, several area restaurants will be closed for lunch.
The City of Tulsa water department said the line broke Tuesday afternoon and workers immediately started repairing the line. Early Wednesday a 6-inch water line valve broke in the area which forced workers to shut off the water to customers on Cherry Street.
Cherry Street will be closed between St. Louis and Trenton Streets until the crew finishes the repairs.
