New Mexico authorities said a man, who is being held for possession of a stolen vehicle and in connection with an alleged murder of a Chickasha woman, signed his extradition papers Thursday.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has not named 31-year-old Lofton Amier Gray as a suspect in the death of 24-year-old Amanda Cecil, who was found dead inside her home on September 5.

Gray, who was wanted for questioning in connection to Cecil's death, was found on September 6, more than 500 miles away from the scene of the crime in Gallup, N.M.

According to police reports, Gray was driving a stolen 1991 white, Jeep Cherokee. New Mexico State Police were called to a road rage incident where Gray allegedly threw a crowbar at another motorist. That motorist then reportedly hit Gray with his vehicle, sending him to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Gray was arrested and booked into jail in New Mexico for possession of the stolen vehicle.

Oklahoma authorities have until October 18 to transfer Gray from New Mexico.
