Prosecutors have charged the man who police said lied to them about an abduction, prompting a statewide Amber Alert.

William Johnson faces one count of communicating false evidence about a missing child.

Police said Williams told them his five-year-old nephew was inside his stolen SUV earlier this month, which prompted a massive search.

The boy was actually spending the night with relatives.
