Oklahoma State overwhelmed Texas Tech on Thursday night and took home a 45-35 win in Stillwater. Here's the instant analysis, stay tuned for the full game recap.

What went well:

The Cowboy passing attack looked a little better on Thursday. Quarterback Daxx Garman was still a little shaky with some intermediate throws and made a few poor decisions, but also made a handful of terrific tosses. Two went to the end zone to the hyped-up freshman receiver James Washington. Washington came in with just two grabs on the season but hauled in three balls for 87 yards and a pair of scores. An encouraging sign for a promising player.

What didn't:

The Cowboys can't be pleased with their run game. Desmond Roland ran for 811 yards and 13 touchdowns last season with a 4.6 yards-per-carry average. That YPC has taken a severe dip early this season down to 3.7 as the Cowboy offensive line continues to struggle a bit. OSU did run for 158 yards, but it took 42 tries against a porous Texas Tech defense. The ground attack remains a work in progress.

What it means:

OSU is 1-0 in Big 12 play. The Cowboys also won their sixth straight game against Texas Tech. Already sitting at 1-0, the Pokes have a very good shot at making that 3-0 with upcoming games against Iowa State and Kansas.

Best moment:

As correctly predicted here, phenom Tyreek Hill found the end zone for the first time in his college career. With OSU up 28-21, Garman found Hill for a 50-yard touchdown. Hill finished the night with 89 total yards on nine offensive touches.

OSU MVP:

Garman. He wasn't perfect but he was improved. Making just his second start, Garman threw for 370 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 27 yards and another score.

What's next:

The Pokes host Iowa State next Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium. OSU will look to improve to 4-1.
