Baker Mayfield's Appeal Denied By NCAA

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield has been denied in his appeal to the NCAA for 2014 eligibility.

Mayfield hoped his appeal would grant eligibility this season based on the fact that he was a walk-on at Texas Tech before transferring to Oklahoma and shouldn't be held to transfer restrictions like a scholarship player.

However, the NCAA has ruled otherwise and Mayfield, who was twice denied a release from Texas Tech, will have to wait until 2015 to play for Oklahoma. The university is permitted to keep Mayfield on full athletic scholarship this year.
