Oklahoma volleyball coach Santiago Restrepo notched his 200th career win with the Sooners in a 3-0 sweep over TCU at McCasland Field House, Wednesday night. Oklahoma improved to 11-4 overall and 2-0 in the Big 12, while the Horned Frogs fell to 11-6 and 1-2.

The Sooners' sixth straight sets victory of the season came 25-19, 25-22 and 25-23.

Redshirt-sophomore outside hitter Madison Ward paced the OU attack with 18 kills and a season-high .471 attack rate. She added a team-high 11 digs to record her team-leading fifth double-double of the season. Ward's kill total matched her career-high; a mark she has reached four times this season.

“We are asking a lot out of Madison and I think this year she has shown us that she is capable of staying at a high level and doing a lot of things for the team,” Restrepo said. “She struggled a little bit on the passing, but when one of your starters is having such a hot streak of hitting with a very good hitting percentage, they were putting pressure on her where she needed to pass. I thought she did a very good job of hitting and Julia [Doyle] did a very good job of delivering the ball today.”

Junior setter Julia Doyle registered her third double-double of the season in a 36-assist effort. She added 10 digs. Doyle moved into seventh all-time in assists at Oklahoma with 2,795 in her career.

“In order for [the hitters] to do well, you have to have someone delivering the ball,” Restrepo said of Doyle. “She has done a terrific job finding out who is hot at the moment. We give her the information after each set, but to win the match she has to figure that out and I think she has done a tremendous job finding out. Marion [Hazelwood] and Madison were hitting at a very high percentage and she did a very good job of delivering the ball to them.”

Junior outside hitter and reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week Kierra Holst finished second in the match with 14 kills and added seven digs. Freshman middle blocker Marion Hazelwood added to the Sooner attack with 10 kills on a .304 attack rate to go with a team-high four blocks.

TCU's offensive attack was led by Ashley Smith with nine kills. Sutton Sunstrum led all players with 12 digs.

For the match, the Sooners hit .270 to the Horned Frogs' .161, while TCU posted 10 total blocks and OU had just five.

The Sooners return to action next Wednesday, Oct. 8 at West Virginia.
