Elderly Stillwater Woman Dies In Cimarron Turnpike Crash In Pawnee County

Elderly Stillwater Woman Dies In Cimarron Turnpike Crash In Pawnee County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a crash involving 5 vehicles in the westbound lanes of the Cimarron Turnpike Wednesday evening left an elderly Stillwater woman dead.

Troopers said the crash happened two miles east of the Highway 99 exit in Pawnee County just after 8 p.m.

The OHP says a 2000 Honda driven by Doris Williams, 81, struck the rear of a 2011 Ford pickup driven by David Willier, 46, of Newton, Kansas. Troopers said Willier's pickup was stopped on the highway after his truck had just struck the rear of a 2003 Peterbilt semi driven by Dale Hughes, 44, of Checotah.

A fourth vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet pickup driven by Jesse Ferrell, 18, of Comanche struck the rear of Williams' car knocking it into a 2012 Chevrolet SUV legally parked on the shoulder. Jesse Ferrell and his passenger, Kyanne Seilbold, 18, of Sterling were not injured.

The OHP says that impact partially ejecting Williams through a rear window. Troopers said she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people who were in the parked SUV were not injured.

David Willier was taken by ambulance to a Tulsa hospital where he was admitted for head, arm, leg and internal injuries. Trooper said he was not wearing his seat belt.

The semi driver, Dale Hughes suffered minor injuries when he was struck by flying debris from the collision involving Willier and Williams. He refused medical treatment.

The OHP continues to investigate the crash but said inattentive driving led to the collision.
