Some south Tulsa residents are still cleaning up storm damage Friday after high winds and heavy rain snapped trees, leaving debris in the roadways and yards.

One neighborhood near 109th and Sheridan was hit especially hard. The area experienced 70-mile-per-hour winds causing significant damage to a lot of trees.

Bill Wilkinson was enjoying a corn dog and lemonade at the Tulsa State Fair Thursday when he got a call from one of his neighbors.

"My neighbors said, 'you better get here, all hell has broken loose,'" Wilkinson said Friday.

In the 40 years he's lived here, he's never seen anything like this.

"This is a big hickory tree - best hickory tree on my property - has to be 100-year-old tree, and it just split right in half," he said.

"This is the absolute worst"

But there was some good news.

"The good news is that none of the trees blew into the house," he said.

Wilkinson says even though its been a headache to clean all this up, he's just happy no one was hurt.
