The Oklahoma women's soccer team is still golden in overtime.

A golden goal in the 101st minute of play from junior Devin Barrett gave Oklahoma a huge 1-0 win over No. 10 Texas Tech on Friday night. The Sooners (7-3-2) are now 3-0-2 in overtime contests this year, and are 2-1-0 against top-10 NCAA teams.

It was a veteran performance for the Sooners, who were relentless and unshakeable in a back-and-forth battle between a competitive Red Raider team. Especially key for OU was the effort of its defense, which held a high-octane Texas Tech offense scoreless in the match. Sooner goalkeeper Kaitlyn Fahrner was particularly clutch, making six saves while posting her third shutout of the season.

After applying early offensive pressure off shots from Rasha Roberts and Devin Barrett, Oklahoma began to feel the heat as the Red Raiders pushed back in the first half.

Despite Texas Tech threatening several times by the Sooner goal, OU's defense prevented their opponent from getting a solid look on the goal. TTU took five shots in the first half, but only one late try from Caity Heap was on goal. Fahrner easily corralled that ball to prevent a TTU scoring threat.

Oklahoma took five shots of its own, led by Barrett's three attempts, and added two corner kick attempts to TTU's one. The Sooners' final corner of the half was brought out with only seven seconds to play, but the wayward header sailed away from the goal as the half ended.

After a pair of early shots from Roberts, TTU surged back on the attack against the Sooners. The match quickly turned into a battle between Fahrner and Tech's Janine Beckie, with Beckie firing five shots in 17 minutes of play and Fahrner makes saves on three of them.

Oklahoma's offense pushed back in the final minutes of the half, with Price hammering a beautiful shot that TTU's Lauren Watson just managed to punch away over the net. Chelsea Jackson drove into the goal in the 88th minute, but Watson scooped up her shot and regulation ended in a 0-0 tie.

Beckie went on the attack again in the first overtime period and Fahrner was again there to meet her, making saves on both shot attempts to fend off the Red Raiders.

It was the Sooners who would come up with the match-ending golden goal in the second overtime period. Price delivered a ball down the middle that Barrett met from the right side. After fending off a pair of Texas Tech defenders, Barrett booted in a shot at the right post to topple the Red Raiders and give Oklahoma a 1-0 start in Big 12 action.

Oklahoma wraps up its first full weekend of conference play on Sunday afternoon, heading north to face the Iowa State Cyclones in Ames. The match is slated for a 1 p.m. CT start, with live stats and live video available at Cyclones.com.
