A passerby helped Tulsa Police arrest a man for allegedly stealing from a Manhattan Construction site.
The man showing an out-of-town friend Route 66 signage near 11th and Riverside said they heard a loud banging noise coming from under the bridge. They called police to the scene shortly after midnight Saturday, he told News On 6 storm spotter Mark Folta.
Officers watched 41-year-old Alberto Juarez-Contreras loading scrap metal and other items into the bed of his pickup, according to an arrest report. A Manhattan Construction employee identified the metal, rebar and concrete forms as company property.
Tulsa Police say the construction materials were worth from $500 to $750. They arrested Juarez-Contreras on a complaint of grand larceny.
He is being held without bond for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
